The CLD (Counselling, Learning and Development) Trust is a respected children’s mental health charity based in Hereford. Founded in 1994, the charity provides counselling and other mental health services to over 700 children and young people each year. The charity is accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
As part of its mission to improve the response and support to young people with emotional health issues, CLD also provides training and support to a broad range of organisations, including schools, colleges, fostering services and residential services. We recognise that since the Covid pandemic, many providers are grappling with higher levels of anxiety and low mood, with challenges related to self-harm, resilience and school attendance.
We are here to help, with practical advice and support helping you know how to respond in an informed way and how best to escalate concerns when necessary.
This brochure sets out some of the courses and workshops that we can deliver to foster carers, residential workers or other staff groups. Please feel free to contact us directly at the CLD at info@thecldtrust.org for more information about any specific workshop, including costings.
All our training is based upon mental health research and delivered by experienced and trained practitioners, directly employed by the CLD Trust. They bring with them frontline knowledge of mental health services.
All our training has been developed with the needs of your organisation in mind, with the potential for them to be run from 10am until 2:15pm for example, to accommodate caring responsibilities, in a venue of your choice.
We have the capacity to provide training throughout the West Midlands, or further afield for specific requests. If you would welcome an information discussion about your organisation’s learning needs please contact Nick Dunster, our CEO, at nick@thecldtrust.org.
